This summer I’ve been working on thread sketches that focus on my urban surroundings. I see these power lines every day on my way downtown. They crisscross the alleys and empty lot near Nicollet and 18th.
This last week I’ve been getting back to thread sketches, which push my drawing skills and force me to think about positive and negative space. The small size–this one is will finish to 5 x7″–also forces me to pare down the details and visual information.
